Introduction
This chapter describes the procedure to update a redBorder Enterprise manager (or a cluster of redBorder manager servers). The procedure to follow is the same for a single node or a cluster configuration.
The procedure will be different depending on whether the redborder manager has internet connection.
Update from Remote Repository
To update a manager with access to internet you do not need the new ISO file. Follow the next step to proceed with the update:
1. Access the manager using a terminal ssh console and run the rb_cluster_update.sh script.
2. System will ask you to select what packages you want to update. Select the redBorder packages (option 2).
3. Select that you want to update from a remote repository (option 1).
4. System will show the current version and a list of available valid versions for update. Choose the version you want to upgrade to.
5. In case of a cluster configuration, the tool will show the order in which the nodes of the cluster will be updated.
6. Select ‘y’ to proceed with the upgrade.
Update from ISO (Offline Mode)
If your manager (or cluster) does not have internet connection you will need to use a valid redborder Enterprise ISO with the version to upgrade to. The update will be made from the ISO of the local repository of the cluster master node, which will be used by the remaining nodes that make up the cluster.
1. Access the manager using a terminal ssh console and run the rb_cluster_update.sh script.
2. System will ask you to select what packages you want to update. Select the redBorder packages (option 2).
3. Select that you want to update from a remote repository (option 1).
4. The tool will ask you to update the local repository from a redBorder ISO. This will allow us to include a new version of redborder in the local repository and have it available for use by all the nodes of the cluster. The system will search for available ISOs on the indicated path.
5. After detecting the current version of the system, the system will ask for the version to which you want to update, from those available in the local repository. Choose the version you want to upgrade to.
6. In case of a cluster configuration, the tool will show the order in which the nodes of the cluster will be updated.
7. Select ‘y’ to proceed with the upgrade.
