Introduction
RedBorder has a friendly and intuitive interface that enables the information collected by the different Apps to be viewed quickly and easily. It also has different web view options (Tops, Raw, Compare, etc.), which are adapted in each case to the different needs that an operator or administrator of the platform may have, and which contribute enormously to improving user experience.
Thanks to the options for filtering and viewing events, redBorder is highly versatile when it comes to demonstrating only the information that needs to be analysed at a given time and conditions.
RedBorder have a framework of standard metrics, algorithms, data format, graphical representation and reporting capabilities that can be used for all the implemented domains. In addition, custom visualization or metrics can be developed for a specific domain over the same framework.
Data Representation
RedBorder platform offers to the customer and user a large set of data visualization components that allow different tabular or graphical representations of the data together with the possibility of applying filters.
Adding, grouping, ordering and filtering by dimensions and by datetime is an easy an intuitive task through the redBorder web application.
The following picture shows an example of graphical representation based in the attribute Application in the Traffic domain applying the TOP formula. This Tops view provides a list of the applications that consume the most bandwidth in the organisation, choosing the desired time interval.
The following figure shows an example of map representation showing countries that are receiving more traffic.
The image below shows example of graphical representation supported by the platform: The Movements view, with a list of the plants defined in that organization and the number of visitors entering and leaving the plant shown on the left. The graph on the right shows these visitor exchanges between plants.
Another example of map representation is the Heat-Map. In the following example, this kind of representation provides a view of the most active areas of the organisation in terms of number of devices or total visitors, the areas in which visitors stay for longer, where there is a higher signal quality, the places to which visitors prefer to return, the areas that are less empty, etc.
Dashboards
The easy creation of Dashboards is another remarkable value of redBorder , since any user can create their own dashboard in a few minutes and customize it to help them performing their daily tasks, showing the most relevant information at a glance.
For each of these domains or products, redBorder offers powerful visualization features through highly customizable dashboards. In this way, it is possible to represent the information in real time or historical, facilitating the understanding of the data and allowing technicians to highlight the aspects that are considered the most important for the interests of each of the companies.
Dashboards can include information coming for one or more domains that can be linked and mixed if so-configured into the correlation engine.
The following dashboard shows an example of a security-oriented dashboard that includes information from Traffic and Intrusion domains.
When accessing redBorder, the first thing that is viewed is a dashboard that contains different metrics and data on the status of sensors, domains, etc.
This home screen is completely customizable. Users can create as many dashboards per profile as desired.
Creating a new Dashboard is very simple and can include text, images, maps, graphs of different types, etc.
The image below shows an example of a Dashboard of an installation made for a technological event. On the left side there is a map showing the Wi-Fi access points, the number of associated clients in each of them and a hot spot map that represents the event’s bandwidth consumption. On the right, different graphs with information about the network are shown, such as the number of devices detected in the installation, the bandwidth consumed, the top URLs accessed, etc.
Reports
RedBorder offer to the customer complete report capacities that can be predefined or created by the user including all available topics, dimensions and metrics and all available data representations.
The following figure shows an example of the creation and configuration of a new report. Some features of the report module are:
- Visibility of the report can be set by group of users, organization, departments, locations, etc.
- Reports can be configured to periodically be executed with different and flexible schedule patterns.
- Notifications can be configured to be sent to a list of users
- As with dashboards and data representation, reports can include topics and attributes from different domains
- User can define which users have access to the reports and the permissions assigned.
The user can specify also with which users wants to share the report,
The following images show an example how the user can use the domains to include in the report and the types of representation available and how the selected KPI representation (second image) can be configure.
